Bad Eyes? Try LASIK

If you have bad eyes, like nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, then maybe it’s time for you to get LASIK eye surgery. LASIK, which stands for Laser-Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis, is a surgery that allows doctors to reshape your eye to improve your vision.

LASIK involves making a flap on cornea of the patient to be able to get to the cornea itself. Once the flap is out of the way, the cornea is reshaped using a laser, and when that’s done, the flap is replaced.

Most of the patients treated with LASIK enjoy the results of their surgery, though the surgery also comes with risks. One of out twenty patients says that they experienced sensitivity to light as well as irregular astigmatism. The good thing with this is that additional treatments can easily fix these problems.

LASIK has become the most popular eye treatment in the United States, and more than a million Americans receive treatment every year.
